Bel Murabba, also called belgiri (bael) murabba, is an ayurvedic and Unani medicine and Indian recipe used for treatment of abdominal diseases. It is beneficial for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), ulcerative colitis and stomach ulcers. It is also used for treatment of diarrhea, dysentery, dyspepsia and liver disorders. It is a good heart and brain tonic.

The superbly acrid, bitter, fiery and gruff fruit bel (bael) acts as bile booster, cough killer, immunity booster and strength booster.

Ingredients

  • 2 big raw bael fruits (wood apple)
  • 200 gms. sugar
  • Silver foil
  • A few drops. essence of kewda
  • 1 tsp. cardamom seeds

Directions of making bel murabba

  • Peel and cut the fruit into small pieces.
  • Discard the pips and immerse in water for 4 hours.
  • Drain out the water and dry for 2 hours.
  • Put 1 cup water in sugar and prepare a syrup. Put over a slow fire till the fruit turns brown. Remove from fire.
  • Cool and put in essence, cover the pieces of fruit with foil and put in an airtight bottle.

Dosage & Administration

The dosage of Bel Murabba = 10 grams to 25 grams

The dosage of Bel Murabba should not exceed from 50 grams per day. If you are diabetic patient, then you should avoid taking the Bel Murabba. You can use Bel Fruit for similar health benefits.
